Product Overview

What is an IAD voice gateway?

An IAD voice gateway connects analog FXS endpoints to an IP voice network. Analog phones, fax machines, POS terminals and legacy PBX extensions keep their existing wiring, while calls are carried over SIP, IMS or a cloud PBX.

The series covers 8 to 96 FXS ports, so the same product family can serve a small branch office, a hotel with hundreds of rooms, a campus or a carrier project. High-density models put up to 96 FXS ports in a 1U chassis and support RJ11 or RJ21 cabling options.

Voice processing, T.38/T.30 fax, echo cancellation, VLAN/QoS and security features are handled at the gateway. Web, Telnet, SNMP and TR-069 management let IT teams configure and monitor distributed sites remotely.

Keep the analog endpoints. Move the voice service to IP.
How It Connects

From analog line to SIP, without replacing the phones

The IAD sits between the existing analog endpoints and the IP voice platform. The PBX can stay in place, be retired, or be replaced by a cloud PBX depending on the project.

01 · Analog Side

Phones, fax, POS and PBX

Existing analog devices connect to FXS ports through their current RJ11 wiring; high-density models can use RJ21 cabling.

  • Analog phones and hotel guest-room phones
  • Fax machines and POS terminals
  • Legacy PBX extension or trunk connections
02 · IAD Gateway

Voice processing and SIP conversion

The gateway converts analog voice to SIP, handles fax and DTMF, and applies voice quality, VLAN/QoS and security policies.

  • SIP v2.0 over UDP/TCP/TLS
  • T.38/T.30 fax and pass-through
  • Echo cancellation, CNG and VAD
03 · IP Side

SIP, IMS, cloud PBX and management

Calls connect to an IP PBX, IMS/NGN platform or cloud voice service; IT manages the gateway through Web, Telnet, SNMP or TR-069.

  • Cloud PBX, IP PBX, IMS and NGN
  • VLAN, QoS, NAT traversal and IPv4/IPv6
  • SNMP, TR-069, Syslog and CDR

FXS ports connect to analog endpoints; the uplink is SIP over IP. The IAD does not replace the PBX unless the PBX itself is being retired.

Port Capacity

Choose the port count that matches the site

The series covers 8, 16, 24, 32, 48, 64, 72 and 96 FXS ports. Use the capacity matrix to shortlist a model, then confirm interfaces and power options for the project.

Core Features

Analog voice, IP transport, enterprise-grade control

The IAD series combines the analog interface, voice processing and security features needed to move legacy voice services onto SIP.

SIP / IMS Interoperability

Standard SIP v2.0 over UDP/TCP/TLS connects to cloud PBX, IP PBX, IMS/NGN and mainstream softswitch platforms.

Fax and POS Support

T.38, T.30 and pass-through fax keep fax machines working, while analog POS terminals can share the same FXS infrastructure.

Voice Codecs and Quality

G.711A/U, G.723.1, G.729A/B, G.726, iLBC and AMR are supported, with echo cancellation up to 128ms, CNG and VAD.

QoS, VLAN and NAT

Layer 3 DiffServ, 802.1P/Q VLAN tagging, STUN and static/dynamic NAT help voice traffic cross enterprise networks cleanly.

TLS / SRTP Security

SIP TLS and SRTP protect signaling and media; multi-level user permissions and Web/Telnet access rules limit administrative risk.

Call Features

Call waiting, forwarding, DND, three-way conference, voicemail, hunting group, speed dial and recording cover daily business use.

Management & Reliability

Deploy at the edge, manage from one place

Web, Telnet, SNMP and TR-069 cover local setup and remote operations, while redundancy options protect high-density sites.

Remote Web and Telnet maintenance with HTTP/HTTPS auto provisioning and upgrade.
SNMP v1/v2/v3 and TR-069 integrate the gateway with existing network management systems.
Syslog and CDR support troubleshooting, call tracking and operational reporting.
High-density models support GE 1+1 redundancy; 48/72-port models offer optional redundant power.
IPv4/IPv6, VLAN, QoS and flexible routing/dial plans fit enterprise and carrier networks.
Deployment Scenarios

Keep analog endpoints, move the voice service

The same IAD family supports branch offices, hotels, campuses and carrier projects with different port densities.

Branch Office

Analog Phone Migration

Connect existing analog phones and fax to a cloud PBX or SIP platform without replacing the cabling.

Fit: 8–32 FXS ports for offices, clinics, shops and small branches.

Hotel & Resort

Guest Room and Front Desk Voice

Keep guest-room analog phones, fax and POS terminals while moving hotel voice to SIP or a cloud PBX.

Fit: 24–96 FXS ports, with high-density 1U models and RJ21 cabling for larger properties.

Carrier & Campus

High-Density Analog Access

Use 48–96 port models in equipment rooms and manage distributed sites through SNMP/TR-069.

Fit: carriers, ISPs, campuses and multi-building projects that need dense FXS access.

Selection Guide

Three steps to the right IAD model

Start with the analog endpoints, then choose capacity and confirm the uplink and management requirements.

Step 01

Count Analog Endpoints

Count analog phones, fax machines, POS terminals and PBX extensions, then add spare ports for future rooms or desks.

Step 02

Choose Port Capacity

Use 8–32 ports for branches, 48–96 for hotels and campuses, and confirm whether RJ11 or RJ21 cabling is required.

Step 03

Confirm Uplink and Management

Check SIP/IMS compatibility, GE uplink redundancy, power options, and whether SNMP or TR-069 is required by the operator.
